Vice Chancellor, Assam Science and Technology University invites applications from Indian citizens as defined in Article 5-8 of the Constitution of India from intending candidates for filling up the following posts of the University.
1) DEPUTY CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATION (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/01) (No. of Post:1):
Scale of Pay: Rs.15,600–39,100 + GP-Rs.7,600.
A.Minimum Essential Qualification:
i) Academic: B.E /B.Tech. and M.E/M.Tech. with first class or equivalent where the class or division is not awarded a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to first class. If a grade point system is adopted CGPA will be converted into equivalent marks as 6.75 grade point is equivalent percentage of 60% (as per AICTE) from a recognised University.
OR
Post Graduate Degree in any other discipline with marks of 55% or its equivalent grade of “B” in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognised University.
ii) Work Experience:
Scale of Pay: Rs.15,600–39,100 + GP-Rs.7,600.

Conducting or assisting University/College/Institution Examinations and other allied works at the executive level and having record justifying entrusting of confidential work. Working knowledge of Computer and Networking is mandatory.
Age : Should not be above the age of 40 years as on 01-01-2013.
2) FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS OFFICER (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/02) (No. of Post: 1):
Scale of Pay: Rs.15,600–39,100 + GP–Rs.6,000.
A. Minimum Essential Qualification:
i) Academic: Master’s Degree in Commerce with at least 55% of marks with specialisation in Accounting.
ii) Work Experience : Minimum experience of 5 (five) years in Accounting in the State Govt./Central Govt./ Public Sector Undertaking or University/College/Institution is needed. Candidates having Computer Knowledge in Accounting Software, MS Office, Page maker, RDBMS etc. is mandatory.
B. Desirable: Finance Officer in the University include preparation of Annual Accounts and Budget, getting the accounts audited by the Office of CAG, managing the properties and funds of the University and advice the University with regard to its financial policies. Also to have experience in handling and managing funds and grants in the University/ College/Institution level.
Age : Should not be above the age of 40 years as on 01-01-2013.
3) STENO (GRADE–I) (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/03)(No. of Post: 1):
Scale of Pay: Rs.12,000–40,000 + GP–Rs.5,900.
i) Academic Qualification:
Master’s Degree in any discipline with at least 55% of marks from a recognised University.
And
Diploma in Stenography in English from Govt. recognised Institution with a speed of 160 words per minute. Computer proficiency with high level familiarity with commonly used package like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point etc is mandatory.
Or
Graduate in any discipline with at least 55% of marks from a recognised University.
And
Diploma in Stenography in English from Govt. recognised Institution with a speed of 160 words per minute. Computer proficiency with high level familiarity with commonly used package like MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point etc. is mandatory.

Graduate in Commerce with specialisation in Accounting from a recognised University with at least 55% of marks. Candidates should have Computer Knowledge in Accounting software (Tally), MS Office, Page maker etc. is mandatory.
ii) Experience: Experiences in account handling and keeping records.

7) JR. ASSISTANT/OFFICE ASSISTANT (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/07)(No. of Post: 8):
Scale of Pay: Rs.5,200–20,200 + GP–Rs.2,600.
Academic Qualification:
The applicants must be Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University. Candidates must have adequate Computer Knowledge and exposure in Windows and MS Office environment having fluency in English writing and Speaking.
Age : Minimum age should be 18 years and Maximum age 38 years as on 01-01-2013.
8) FRONT OFFICE ASSISTANT (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/08) (No. of Post:2):
Scale of Pay: Rs. 5,200–20,200 + GP–Rs. 2,300.
Academic Qualification:
H.S.L.C. passed from the Board of Secondary Education, Assam / CBSE having exposure in using computer and good communication skill.
Age : Minimum age should be 18 years and Maximum age 38 years as on 01-01-2013..
9) SYSTEM OPERATOR (Post Code No: APP-2/2013/09) (No. of Post: 1):
Scale of Pay: Rs.5,200–20,200 + GP–Rs. 2,100.
Academic Qualification:
Diploma in Computer Science from an AICTE and State Council for Technical Education recognised Institution. The Candidate should have exposure in using hardware and software in office environment is essential.
Age :Minimum age should be 18 years and Maximum age 38 years as on 01-01-2013
